Lib Dem led Hart leads the way in reducing carbon emissions with Heat Pumps
Hart District Council have been awarded almost £1.6 million for their scheme to install Heat Pumps in three major buildings, significantly reducing their carbon emissions.
Sunlight filtering through bare trees, and ice on Fleet Pond. Winter can be a beautiful time in Hart, but not for those in our community struggling with the cost of living crisis. Hart District Council, jointly led by the Liberal Democrats working with Community Campaign Hart, have provided funding to local groups under their Winter Cost of Living Support Scheme.
A range of initiatives run by local groups have benefited from the scheme, including the Young Carers ‘Cook and Eat' programme, Christians Against Poverty's ‘Cook well for less’ sessions, and the Over 55s Forum in Hartley Wintney.
Lib Dem Councillor Stuart Bailey for Yateley East, portfolio holder for Community, commented to HDC News that: “We all need nutritious food and warmth – but the reality is that many people are finding it hard to afford these essentials. Many residents have also experienced impacts on their health and wellbeing. This grant scheme will play an important role in supporting those who need it the most.”
