A new start for North East Hampshire as it elects its first Liberal Democrat MP and first woman MP. Alex joins 71 other fellow Lib Dem MPs in the House of Commons to form a substantial block to hold the government to account.
In her acceptance speech, Alex said:
"I am honoured and privileged to be elected as MP for North East Hampshire.
Thank you for putting your trust in me.
I look forward to working hard for our area."
With an amazing campaign and a dedicated, highly effective team, she overturned the huge majority of the previous Tory. She will be a superb MP. Alex, we look forward to working with you.
Alex's appointment to this significant role in Parliament will enable her to use her professional and personal experience to the benefit of many in her constituency and beyond.
