Our Lib Dem councillors have been as active as ever during the pandemic. Some helped identify vulnerable people who needed food or medication and had no family or friends' support, helping to match them up with the large number of volunteers who came forward.
Then we tackled many enquiries about when services would return. That continues, as we ease out of this third lockdown. We are also pressing Hampshire Highways to catch up on their big backlog of work.
Council meetings have been happening via Zoom or Teams. Any resident can 'attend' or watch online if you wish. Throughout all this, many people continue to contact us with local concerns and we do our best to help
We can't solve every problem, but we will always try.
It is tragic that people were told by the Government that they could meet up over Christmas (much as we all wanted to), with the predictable massive surge in deaths that followed in January.
We hope the 'road-map' back to normal life is handled much more carefully than the madness we saw last year. Too many people have died unnecessarily. The Government must get it right this time, and we must all do our bit by sticking to the rules! There is no greater loss of freedom than to lose your life.
Our Focus volunteer deliverers are all given Covid-safe delivery advice to protect both themselves and you.
